Apple announces a new apple watch SE packing the essential features of the Apple Watch at a more affordable price. The new apple watch SE comes with an edge to edge display and features the same accelerometer, gyroscope, and always-on altimeter as Apple Watch Series 6, and with the latest motion sensors and microphone, and offers health and safety capabilities including fall detection, Emergency SOS, international emergency calling, and the Noise app.

“Apple Watch SE combines elements of the Series 6 design with the most essential features of Apple Watch, all at a more affordable price,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. “We’re excited to offer another great option to help customers stay connected, be more active, and keep an eye on their health.”
Apple Watch SE features an all-new Retina display, with thin borders and curved corners, that is 30 percent larger than Series 3. and a dual-core processor, Apple says Apple Watch SE delivers incredibly fast performance, up to two times faster than Apple Watch Series 3.
Similar to the Apple Watch Series 6, the Apple Watch SE also features an always-on altimeter that shows the real-time elevation. There is support for fall detection as well that uses a custom algorithm and the latest accelerometer and gyroscope and the watch sends the user an alert after a hard fall. The watch supports a microphone, speaker along with Bluetooth 5.0.
The new watch OS 7 on apple watch SE brings handwashing detection, sleep tracking, and more. watchOS 7 also comes with Family Setup that allows children to access Emergency SOS at any time.
Pricing and availability of Apple watch SE
Apple Watch Series SE (GPS) is priced starting at Rs. 29,900 and the Apple Watch SE (GPS + Cellular) is priced starting at Rs. 33,900. The Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop in (PRODUCT)RED will be available in late October and the Watch Series SE will be available soon through Apple Authorised Resellers in India.
