cracks down on password sharing

Netflix CEO said in 2016 that account sharing would be too hard to police and did not represent a big threat anyway. In a statement he says

“In terms of [password sharing], no plans on making any changes there,” co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings said during the company’s third-quarter earnings webcast. “Password sharing is something you have to learn to live with because there’s so much legitimate password sharing, like you sharing with your spouse, with your kids …. so there’s no bright line, and we’re doing fine as is.”

Four Years later now Netflix started cracking down password-sharing features. Netflix is testing a feature that asks viewers to verify they share a household with the account holder. Currently, the notice appears to have been pushed to a small group of users. If you aren’t an account Holder you might lose access to Netflix.
