Microblogging platform Twitter has launched a new feature called Twitter circles, which will enable users to share tweets with a specific, custom group of connections in the app. As noted by Twitter down below.

What are Twitter Circles

Twitter Circles enables users to essentially create a private group where they can share tweets privately with the group. According to Twitter, users will be able to add up to 150 people to their Circle, with any tweets in the group then only visible to the people in that listing.

If you are a member of the group, you will see a green color indicator attached to each Circle tweet quoting “Only people in this circle can see this”.

This is an extension to the Twitter reply control option where you can restrict who can reply to the Tweet.

How to create a Twitter circle

Before creating a Twitter circle make sure that you updated Twitter to the latest version. If not you can visit Google and Apple App Stores and update the app. Once you have the latest version of Twitter follow the steps below.

  • Open the Twitter app on your smartphone. If you are eligible a new prompt appears on the screen.
  • Click on get started on the prompt.
  • Now add the list of people you want to form a circle with.
  • You can add up to 150 people.
  • Once added, you can post a tweet to the circle.
