Lets talk about all new M1 chip that does magic in both 2020 new MacBook.

Incredible battery life

MacBook Air and MacBook Pro

Apple claims 18 hours battery life on Macbook Air and it’s true but not for now. Before digging deep into the battery life keep in mind that most of the apps and software are not optimized for the M1 chip. Most of the apps ( not apple apps ) still runs on emulation and it takes time to get native support for the M1 chip.

Battery life on new macs is incredibly better than any other macs launched before. And battery life can be even better if more apps run natively on this new M1 chip.

Incredible performance

MacBook Air

The performance on MacBook air with an M1 chip is simply incredible. You can expect pro-level performance unlike old MacBook air’s. Day-to-day apps on Macbook Air 2020 Runs really smooth and the performance is excellent. With the new macOS Big Sur, it even extended. Overall the new MacBook Air performs like a pro thanks to the all-new M1 Chip

MacBook Pro 2020

You just read about performance on the new MacBook Air sounds like a pro and on the new pro is pro plus.

Lets break it out

Apple’s new M1 is the first generation chip that Apple has ever made based on the arm and most of the apps running on new macs are emulated from intel core. Unlike windows emulation which is always buggy and ruins battery life, Apple’s new MacBooks can handle them better. The experience is smooth with no noticeable bugs as of now and the battery life is incredible.

Pricing and details

  • The MacBook Pro 13-inch with 256GB SSD is priced at Rs. 1,22,900 and the 512GB SSD option is priced at Rs. 1,42,900. Users can customise the RAM and storage options on Apple India online store

Should you buy the new Macs?

Yes but only you are aware of transition time. Look the M1 chip is new and it takes time for the developers to optimize it for M1 chip. Currently most of tbe apps including tbe popular apps like Adobe photoshops still runs on emulator and announces it takes time to run natively on new macs. You might end up facing some problems with few apps that might not actually run on new M1 chip. I currently don’t have any timeline about apps transition once I got I will update you.
