According to the latest reports from Bloomberg, Google is trying to make YouTube as one of the shopping destinations. The goal is to convert YouTube’s bounty of videos into a vast catalog of items that viewers can peruse, click on and buy directly from the YouTube itself. The company is also testing a new integration with Shopify for selling items through YouTube.

A YouTube spokesperson confirmed the company is testing these features with a limited number of video channels. Creators will have control over the products that are displayed, the spokesperson said. This is the biggest move from Google turning out YouTube into the Biggest shopping destination platform.

The new service has begun offering subscriptions for creators and takes a cut of 30% from those payments. YouTube consists majority of tutorial and unboxing videoes, So creators can directly link products that can be purchased directly from the YouTube itself without using affiliate links.

Google’s biggest rivals on another hand like Facebook and Amazon made a significant amount of more money by selling products online, thanks to COVID 19 for booming online sales. Google has no chance to be a part of this e-commerce boom. Now Google decided to make an entry to commerce by using the biggest Social media video platform on the planet.
