Samsung Galaxy S22/S22 plus

Review

  • Great performance
  • Big, bright, and smooth display
  • High-quality camera system
  • Excellent support policy
  • Good build quality
  • Poor battery life

If you are looking for an alternative to the Apple iPhone your obvious choice is the Samsung. The Samsung S22 series is Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2022, there is another higher-end variant called Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra which is priced above 1 lakh rupees, and let’s reserve it for another day.

Coming to S22 plus it’s an all-rounder from Samsung. It has one of the best displays present on smartphones, they are now equipped with Qualcomm processors instead of Exynos, offering really good camera performance and this is also the same case with regular S22 but it comes in a smaller package.

The problem with both smartphones is the battery life. You can easily notice battery life dropping in percentage in Just a Matter of time. If you are a heavy user you cannot get the full day.

Another thing I don’t like about Samsung is the One UI, the UI is still cluttered. I know there are fans of Samsung OneUI, but personally, I think the OneUI still needs to get better.

Specifications

  • S22 of Dimensions: 146×70.6×7.6mm; Weight: 168g
  • S22+ of Dimensions: 157.4×75.8×7.6mm; Weight: 196g

  • Display of S22+ — 6.6-inch FHD+ Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED Display, 48-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate in Game Mode, up to 1750 nits  brightness, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm Mobile Platform / Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 2200 processor
  • Ram and Storage: 8GB RAM with 128GB/256GB storage
  • OS: Android 12 with One UI 4.1
  • Dual SIM (nano + nano)
  • Rear camera: 50MP rear camera with LED Flash,  1/1.57″ 1um ISOCELL GN5 sensor, f/1/8 aperture, OIS, 12MP 120° Ultra Wide sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 10MP Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom, OIS, 4K 60 fps, 8K 30fps
  • Front camera: 10MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture
  • Dust and Water-resistant (IP68)
  • 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 (Wi-Fi 6E in S22+) 802.11ax (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, UWB (S22+ only), GPS + GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST

Google Pixel 6 Pro

Review

  • Snappy performance
  • Smooth screen
  • Great battery life
  • Excellent camera
  • Excellent value
  • Issues in every update
  • Not officially launched in India

The next pick on our list is Google Pixel 6 pro. Before talking about this smartphone I would like to strictly mention that the Google pixel is not been officially launched in India. The smartphone is available on the Amazon India website through some third-party sellers. Initially, The Google Pixel 6 Pro’s price in the Amazon India listing is Rs 1,04,000 and currently, it is priced at 71,000/-.

We suggest you stay away from it. Since Google is not officially selling the phone in India, there will likely be no official warranty on it as well.

The reason why I listed this phone is because if you are a pixel fan and desperate about using a pure Android smartphone there is no better option than Google Pixel 6 Pro. And if you want to buy it you can import unlocked versions from other countries. Or you can contact the seller on Amazon for more details on this smartphone. Decide to buy only if you have accurate information.
