Looking for a new printer? You have come to the right place before picking up the right one for your need. With the help of my Team, I have outlined five things you should consider before buying any Printer. The Guide includes How to choose the Best Printer for your home, office, single function, multi-function 8use, ink-jet, laser type, and many more explained in simple terms.

How to choose the right printer

1. Single function vs Multifunction printers

The single-purpose printer only just prints documents. A multifunction printer can also scan and copy photos in addition to printing documents. Only a few advanced multifunction printers can fax. It’s all up to you. A xerox multifunction printer is better if you want to print, scan and copy. However, having a multifunction printer also increases the cost.

2. Type of Printer:

Multi-function Printer
Ink Tank Printer
Laser Printer

There are two main types of Printers. Laser printer and Inkjet printers. Choosing one between them completely depends on what you print. If you print graphics, photos, and text, an Inkjet printer is the best option. If you print only black and white documents Laser printer is the best option for you.

Laser Printers are faster than inkjet printers. Also if you are new to the Printers world, Ink-Jet printers are very expensive to maintain. Especially the ink used in the inkjet printer is really expensive to buy.

But thanks to the new type of ink-tank printers that reduces the cost of maintaining the printer. Because the ink from an inkjet printer can dry and plug it up, laser printers are best for people who do not print frequently.

3. Printing Quality

Printing quality is measured by resolution. High resolution means a crisp, clear document. Resolution is expressed in dpi (Dots per inch). High resolution means more dpi. The dots are measured in both directions.

If a printer has 700 * 700 dpi, that means 700 dots per inch vertically and horizontally. High resolution prints more dots but uses more ink or toner. As a result, the default resolution in offices is set to medium. If the document’s letters are too small, increase the resolution to make it more visible.

4. Duplexing

In simple terms, Duplexing means the ability to print both sides of the paper. This feature not only reduces paper usage and also time. Instead of you manually turning the paper every time you want to print something, Duplex features allow you to print on both sides of the document without needing a person to turn the paper manually.

5. Connectivity

You can connect your printer to any device using both wired and wireless connections. Wireless connection is the most preferred way of connection as it reduces the hassle of connecting cables and also makes it easy to switch between devices. You can connect your printer wirelessly using Bluetooth, Direct WiFi-Network, and also using a Wifi connection.

So, those are the five main things you should consider before buying any Printer. Hope you find this tutorial useful. If you have any suggestions you can suggest us at vinron.in/suggestions.
